Ditide (Benzthiazide/Triamterene IP) is a combination of 2 active ingredients. It is used to treat edema (fluid retention) and high blood pressure in patients with lower than normal amounts of potassium in their bodies. This drug is a special type of diuretic (water pill), which helps the kidneys to rid the body of unnecessary sodium and water while at the same time reducing the loss of potassium.

How should I use Ditide (Benzthiazide/Triamterene IP)?

Ditide (Benzthiazide/Triamterene IP) tablets should be taken after eating, in order to reduce stomach upset. You should try to avoid taking this drug within 4 hours of going to bed, so as to avoid having to wake up to urinate. Your physician will prescribe the correct dose required to treat your condition. Patients treating edema are usually advised to take this drug once per day.
