How does Microgynon ED (Levonorgestrel/Ethinylestradiol) work:

Microgynon ED (Levonorgestrel/Ethinylestradiol) is a combined oral contraceptive, commonly known as a `birth control pill`. Microgynon ED is used to prevent pregnancy.

Microgynon ED prevents you from becoming pregnant by inhibiting the egg release by stopping it maturing and changing the cervical mucus consistency, making it more difficult for the sperm to reach the egg. You may also experience more regular and shorter periods and a decrease in the amount of blood you lose each month, a decrease in anaemia and period pain.

Dosage & Administration:

Take 1 tablet daily at about the same time everyday. You must take Microgynon ED every day even if you do not have sex very often. It will also help you remember when to take it. It does not matter if you take this medicine before or after food. Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water.

If you do not understand the instructions printed on the pharmacist label, ask your physician or pharmacist for help.
