What is Nelvir (Nelfinavir Mesilate) used for?

Nelvir (Nelfinavir Mesilate) is used together with other drugs as a treatment for HIV. It may be used by patients with or without AIDS. This drug belongs to a class of medications called protease inhibitors which work by slowing down the HIV virus and its ability to spread in the body. However this drug will not cure HIV and will not prevent it from being spread to other people.

How should I use Nelvir (Nelfinavir Mesilate)?

Nelvir (Nelfinavir Mesilate) tablets should be taken by mouth. A usual dose for this drug is 2 to 3 times per day, taken with food. You should take this medication at the same time every day. Patients who are unable to swallow this medication may crush it and take it together with food.

What are the side effects of Nelvir (Nelfinavir Mesilate)?

Patients who take Nelvir (Nelfinavir Mesilate) may notice side effects, such as:
