How does Nordette (Ethinyloestradiol/Levonorgestrel) work:

Nordette (Ethinyloestradiol/Levonorgestrel) is a form of female contraceptive pill designed to stop the patient from ovulating. It is very similar to other popular female contraceptive pills on the market, and comprises of two active ingredients, Ethinyloestradiol and Levonorgestrel.

Dosage and Administration:

It is recommended you start on the first day of you period, taking 1 tablet a day for 21 days (three weeks). Then stop taking the pill for 7 days (one week). After the 7th day of the break you should begin a new strip of pills for 21 days regardless of what stage of your period you may be at. For best results, take the pill at the same time each day.

If you are switching to Nordette from another oral contraception, use an additional form of contraception such as condoms for the first month on Nordette. This is necessary as Nordette may not become effective immediately if your body is used to another contraceptive product.
