What is Ampisyn (Ampicillin) used for?

Ampisyn (Ampicillin) is used in the treatment of many different types of bacterial infections, such as infections of the ear or bladder, pneumonia, gonorrhea or salmonella infections. This drug is a type of penicillin antibiotic which fights the bacteria in the body.

How should I use Ampisyn (Ampicillin)?

Patients who have been prescribed Ampisyn (Ampicillin) capsules may be told to take it every 6 hours (4 times per day). You should swallow these capsules whole, with a full glass of water. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach. Once you have been prescribed this medication by your physician, it is essential that you continue taking it until you have finished the entire prescribed amount. If you stop taking it before you finish the prescribed course, your symptoms may return.

What are the side effects of Ampisyn (Ampicillin)?

Side effects of Ampisyn (Ampicillin) include:
