What is Asthafen (Ketotifen Fumarate) used for?

Asthafen (Ketotifen Fumarate) is a type of antihistamine that is used to help minimize the severity and frequency of asthma attacks. It may also be used to treat other conditions. This medication can help to allow for a reduction of other asthma medications. However, it cannot be used to treat an active asthma attack.

How should I use Asthafen (Ketotifen Fumarate)?

Asthafen (Ketotifen Fumarate) tablets should be taken orally. Adult patients should take one tablet twice daily, or as directed by their physician. Patients should be aware that it may take several weeks for the full benefits of this drug to be noticed. It is common for physicians to decrease the patient's dosage of other asthma drugs after they have been taking this medication for 2 to 3 months. Never exceed the dosage prescribed to you by your physician.

What are the side effects of Asthafen (Ketotifen Fumarate)?
