What is Atarax (Hydroxyzine HCL) used for?

Atarax (Hydroxyzine HCL) is used to treat nervousness caused by mood disorders such as anxiety and dementia. It can also be used to treat itchiness, sneezing, hives and runny nose caused by allergies. This drug helps to relax patients by reducing activity in the central nervous system. It also acts as an antihistamine by reducing the chemical histamine in the body.

How should I use Atarax (Hydroxyzine HCL)?

Atarax (Hydroxyzine HCL) tablets should be taken orally, 3 to 4 times daily or as recommended by your physician. Patients should always consult their physician before taking this medication so that the correct amount can be prescribed to them. You should never exceed the dosage prescribed to you.
