What is Butop (Butenafine HCL) used for?

Butop (Butenafine HCL) is a topical antifungal cream which is used to help treat a wide range of fungal skin infections, including jock itch, athlete's foot, and ringworm. It is also effective in treating a type of fungal infection called pityriasis, which occurs on the chest, limbs or neck and causes a discoloration of the skin. This cream works by preventing the growth of fungus on the skin.

How should I use Butop (Butenafine HCL)?

Before you apply Butop (Butenafine HCL) cream to the skin, you should ensure that the affected area is clean and dry. A thin layer of cream should be applied to the affected area and gently rubbed in. You should do this 1 to 2 times per day or as directed by your physician. You should not cover or put a bandage on the affected area unless your physician tells you to do so. Do not stop using this cream until you have finished the full period of treatment, as this may result in your symptoms returning.
