This product contains the active ingredient, hydrocortisone, which is a type of corticosteroid which decreases inflammation in the colon and rectum, thereby helping to reduce diarrhea and bloody stools caused by conditions such as ulcerative colitis.

It is best to use this product after a bowel movement. To use it, you should lie on your left side, and move your right knee towards your chest (left handed patients should lie on their right side). Insert the applicator into the rectum, and gently squeeze the bottle, to empty the contents on the applicator into the rectum. You should stay lying on your side for at least 30 minutes, and keep the medicine in your rectum for at least 1 hour (or if possible, overnight). Treatment is normally required for 2 to 3 weeks, however treatment may sometimes be required for a longer period of time. Your physician will determine how long treatment is required for.
