What is Colofac (Mebeverine HCL) used for?

Colofac (Mebeverine HCL) is in a class of medications known as antispasmodics, and is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome, chronic irritable colon, spastic constipation, mucous colitis, spastic colitis and other similar conditions. This medication works by relieving pain and spasms in the intestine, and helping to relieve spasms.

How should I use Colofac (Mebeverine HCL)?

Colofac (Mebeverine HCL) tablets should be taken by mouth. You may be told to take 1 tablet 3 times per day. After a few weeks of treatment, your physician may gradually reduce your dosage. Patients are sometimes advised to take these tablets 20 minutes before eating, as symptoms are usually strongest after meals.

What are the side effects of Colofac (Mebeverine HCL)?
