What is Cresar-40 (Telmisartan) used for?

Cresar-40 (Telmisartan) can be used to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes or other conditions in patients who are at risk of cardiovascular disease. It is also used either on its own or with other drugs as a treatment for hypertension. This drug is a type of angiotensin II receptor antagonist, which blocks the action of the substances responsible for tightening the blood vessels, thereby relaxing the blood vessels.

How should I use Cresar-40 (Telmisartan)?

Cresar-40 (Telmisartan) tablets are normally taken once per day, with food or on an empty stomach. You should take this medication at the same time every day. It is important to note that this drug will not work instantly. You may notice a decrease in blood pressure during the first 2 weeks of taking this drug, however it can take up to 4 weeks for the full benefits to be noticed.
