What is Daivobet (Calcipotriol/Betamethasone) used for?

Daivobet (Calcipotriol/Betamethasone) is a topical corticosteroid prescribed to treat mild to moderate plaque psoriasis. The medication operates by suppressing immune responses to reduce pain, irritation, swelling, and redness associated with this condition. Your physician may prescribe it to be used along with other medicines or to treat other conditions that are not listed here.

How should I use Daivobet (Calcipotriol/Betamethasone)?

Follow your physician's instructions for using Daivobet (Calcipotriol/Betamethasone) to get the safest and most efficient results. It is typically applied once daily, but your individual instructions will depend on your current health condition, the severity of your symptoms, and your response to similar treatments. Do not self-medicate as misuse may lead to unexpected or severe health problems.

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before applying the gel. If the medication is being used to treat psoriasis affecting the scalp, comb the hair to remove any loose scales, tilt the head back to prevent it from running into the eyes, put a small amount of gel on the finger, and gently rub it into the area being treated. Wait five to ten minutes before rinsing the hair to allow time for the medicine to be absorbed before rinsing away any excess. If the gel is being used to treat other areas of the body, apply a small amount of medication and gently massage it until a thin film is left. Do not cover the area allowing excess medicine to evaporate. Wash your hands after each administration to prevent any gel from coming into contact with areas not being treated. If you get any gel into your eyes or mouth, thoroughly flush them and contact your physician. It is suggested to apply the doses at the same time each day to get keep a consistent level of medicine on the skin.

Attend regular consultations with your prescribing physician to make sure you are getting the correct results from the medication. After observing your symptoms, progress, and response to the medication, you may be instructed to change the administration frequency until the best results occur. Ask your physician or pharmacist if you have any questions about how to use the medicine to ensure the correct application.

What are the side effects of Daivobet (Calcipotriol/Betamethasone)?

As with any medication, the use of Daivobet (Calcipotriol/Betamethasone) may cause side effects in some patients. These will not always occur and can be mild or severe. If you do experience any unusual symptoms, inform your physician as soon as possible to make sure the correct response is taken.
