What is Daivonex (Calcipotriol) used for?

Daivonex (Calcipotriol) is used to treat psoriasis. The active ingredient in this topical treatment is derived from vitamin D. It treats the thickened skin and raised plaques caused by psoriasis by reducing excess production of skin cells,while at the same time promoting normal growth of skin cells, thereby clearing psoriasis plaques.

How should I use Daivonex (Calcipotriol)?

Daivonex (Calcipotriol) comes in the form of an ointment or cream, which should be applied directly to the skin. Your physician will tell you how much to apply, when to apply it and for how long treatment is required. You should follow all instructions provided to you by your physician, and never apply more of it than prescribed. It may take up to 12 weeks for the full benefits of treatment with this medication to be noticed.
