What is Eukroma (Hydroquinone) used for?

Eukroma (Hydroquinone) works by reducing the formation of a pigment in the skin known as melanin, which gives the skin a brown color. This cream is prescribed as a treatment to lighten certain dark patches on the skin, such as freckles, age spots, chloasma, melasma and hyperpigmentation. These symptoms are sometimes caused by birth control pills, injury, certain medication or other causes.

How should I use Eukroma (Hydroquinone)?

Eukroma (Hydroquinone) comes in the form of a cream, which should be applied to the affected area of the skin as directed by your physician. You may be told to apply it to the skin twice per day. You should avoid getting this product in the eyes. Patients should note that this medication can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Therefore, it is important to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and to cover the treated area of skin when outside. If you don't notice an improvement in your condition after 2 months, you should consult your physician.
