What is Levoquin (Levofloxacin) used for?

Levoquin (Levofloxacin) is an antibiotic which is used to help treat infections such as chronic bronchitis and pneumonia, as well as sinus, skin, kidney and urinary tract infections. It is a type of fluoroquinolone antibiotic which works by killing bacteria. However, it will not work for infections caused by viruses.

How should I use Levoquin (Levofloxacin)?

Levoquin (Levofloxacin) tablets are taken orally, once per day. You should take this antibiotic medication on an empty stomach, at least one hour before eating or 2 hours after meals. Your physician will inform you how long you need to take this medication for. Continue taking this medication until you have finished the entire prescribed amount.

What are the side effects of Levoquin (Levofloxacin)?

When Levoquin (Levofloxacin) tablets are taken, you may notice some side effects such as:
