What is Lostatin (Lovastatin) used for?

Lostatin (Lovastatin) lowers bad cholesterol, such as LDL and triglycerides, and also raises HDL (good cholesterol) levels in the blood. It should be used together with a proper diet and regular exercise. This drug is a type of medication known as a statin. It lowers cholesterol production by the liver.

How should I use Lostatin (Lovastatin)?

Patients taking Lostatin (Lovastatin) are usually directed to take 10mg to 20mg per day. Ask your physician about the correct dosage required for you. If your physician deems it necessary to increase your dosage, he or she will inform you. You should only take the amount of this drug that has been prescribed to you. Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while you are taking this drug, as this could have unwanted effects.

What are the side effects of Lostatin (Lovastatin)?
