What is Milixim (Cefixime) used for?

Milixim (Cefixime) is given as a treatment for many different types of bacterial infections, such as pneumonia, gonorrhea and bronchitis. It may also treat lung infections and bacterial infections affecting the ear, throat and urinary tract. This medication is a type of cephalosporin antibiotic, which stops the bacteria from growing. This medication should not be used to treat viral infections.

How should I use Milixim (Cefixime)?

Milixim (Cefixime) tablets are normally taken once per day, or else twice per day at 12 hour intervals, for a period of 5 to 14 days. Patients treating gonorrhea may need to take it for 1 to 10 days. Follow all instructions provided to you by your physician. You should continue taking this medication, and not stop taking it without first consulting your physician.

What are the side effects of Milixim (Cefixime)?

Side effects of Milixim (Cefixime) include:
