What is Plagril (Clopidogrel Bisulfate) used for?

Plagril (Clopidogrel Bisulfate) can be used by people with heart disease, blood circulation disease or those who have recently suffered from a heart attack to prevent heart attacks and strokes. It may also be used together with aspirin to treat angina, and to prevent blood clots after surgical procedures. This drug blocks chemicals in the blood, known as platelets, and prevents these chemicals from forming blood clots thereby helping to keep blood flowing smoothly in the body.

How should I use Plagril (Clopidogrel Bisulfate)?

Patients who have been prescribed Plagril (Clopidogrel Bisulfate) are usually directed to take 75mg per day. However, the dosage may vary as it is based on the condition and the response to treatment. If you have been prescribed this medication to prevent blood clots after a stent implant or other surgical procedure, you may be instructed to take this drug for a long time, sometimes months or years, with aspirin. Stopping treatment early may have risks. Discuss these risks with your physician.

What are the side effects of Plagril (Clopidogrel Bisulfate)?
