What is Rejun (Clomiphene) used for?

Rejun (Clomiphene) is prescribed to women as a treatment for infertility caused by ovulation failure. This drug belongs to a class of medications known as ovary stimulants, which can help to cause an egg to be released from the ovaries (ovulation). It works by helping to increase the level of hormones responsible for the release of eggs. Studies have shown this drug to effective in the treatment of male hypogonadism, and may help to enhance fertility in males.

How should I use Rejun (Clomiphene)?

Rejun (Clomiphene) tablets should be taken by mouth. Follow the instructions of your physician, and only take the amount prescribed to you. Female patients are sometimes told to commence treatment with this drug on day 5 of their cycle, and are normally told to take it once per day for 5 days. If you are treating male hypogonadism, you should consult your physician to determine the correct dosage.

What are the side effects of Rejun (Clomiphene)?

Side effects of Rejun (Clomiphene) include:

  • Tenderness of the breasts
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Visual disturbances

Report all side effects to your physician immediately. This drug has been associated with a condition called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Symptoms of this condition include inflammation of the abdomen, a sudden increase in weight and changes in urination.
