What is Sorbitrate 10 (Isosorbide Dinitrate) used for?

Sorbitrate 10 (Isosorbide Dinitrate) is given to patients with coronary artery disease, to prevent the occurrence of angina. It is used to prevent angina, and will not relieve chest pain that has already started. The active ingredient in this drug belongs to a class of medications called nitrates, which work by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby allowing blood to flow more easily to the heart. This drug may sometimes be given together with other drugs to treat congestive heart failure.

How should I use Sorbitrate 10 (Isosorbide Dinitrate)?

Sorbitrate 10 (Isosorbide Dinitrate) tablets are normally taken 2 to 3 times per day. Take this medication at regular intervals, and never take more than the prescribed amount. Do not suddenly stop taking this drug. This may cause chest pain to occur again. Some patients may develop a tolerance to this drug after they have been taking it for a long time.
