What is Avomine (Promethazine Theoclate) used for?

Avomine (Promethazine Theoclate) is used to prevent motion sickness, and may also treat nausea and vomiting caused by surgery. Apart from this, this drug is also used to treat symptoms of allergies. The active ingredient in this drug belongs to a class of medications known as phenothiazines, which work by affecting the actions of certain chemicals in the brain. It also acts as an antihistamine.

How should I use Avomine (Promethazine Theoclate)?

You should consult your physician before taking Avomine (Promethazine Theoclate) tablets, so that the correct dosage can be prescribed. Some patients may be told to take it 30 to 60 minutes before commencing travel, and to take it again after 8 to 12 hours if necessary.
