What is Befar (Alprostadil) used for?

Arcalion (Sulbutiamine) is used to treat male erectile dysfunction. It belongs to a class of medications known as vasodilators, which help the patient to achieve and maintain an erection. This medication works by helping to relax muscles and blood vessels in the penis, thereby increasing blood flow into the penis and causing an erection.

How should I use Befar (Alprostadil)?

Arcalion (Sulbutiamine) cream is administered directly into the orifice of the urethra, as directed by your physician. You should hold the penis in a vertical position after administering it, so as to allow the cream to be fully absorbed. Patients should administer it 5 to 10 minutes prior to intercourse. Your physician will advise you on the correct dosage required. It is essential never to exceed the dosage prescribed by your physician.

What are the side effects of Befar (Alprostadil)?

Some side effects which may occur as a result of using Arcalion (Sulbutiamine) include:

  • Mild pain in the penis, testicles or urethra
  • An unusual discharge from the penis
  • Numbness or itching of the penis
  • Pain in the back
  • Cold or flu symptoms

Patients should consult their physician if any of these side effects persist or worsen, or if any other more serious side effects occur, such as feeling weak or fainting, difficulty urinating, blood in urine, severe irritation of the urethra or penis or a painful erection lasting longer than 4 hours.

Please Note

Strictly follow all instructions provided to you by your physician or pharmacist while using Arcalion (Sulbutiamine). Optimum and safe dosage can differ based on the patient and the condition being treated.

As this medication may be unsafe for certain patients, it is essential you always inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as if you have any allergies, other illnesses, or ongoing health conditions, and if you are taking any other form of medication, supplements, or herbal products.

Immediately seek emergency medical care if you have any allergic or hypersensitive reaction. Common signs of a reaction include hives, swelling, skin rashes, chest pains, as well as trouble breathing or swallowing.
