What is Cabgolin (Cabergoline) used for?

Cabgolin (Cabergoline) is used as a treatment for high levels of a certain hormone in the body, known as prolactin. Women with excessive levels of this hormone may experience symptoms such as unwanted production of breast milk, missed menstrual periods and difficulty becoming pregnant. Men with high levels of prolactin may experience symptoms such as enlarged breasts and a decrease in their sex drive. This medication blocks prolactin from being released from the pituitary gland.
