What is Fempro (Letrozole) used for?

Fempro (Letrozole) is used to treat certain types of breast cancer in postmenopausal women, as well as being used to help prevent the return of cancer. The hormone estrogen is needed by some types of cancer to grow. By reducing the quantity of estrogen produced by the body, this drug helps to slow the growth of these types of cancer. Women of childbearing age are not treated with this drug.

How should I use Fempro (Letrozole)?

Patients are usually directed to take one Fempro (Letrozole) tablet per day. This medication may be taken with or without food. Patients must consult their physician prior to commencing treatment with this drug, so that the correct amount required to treat their particular condition can be prescribed.

What are the side effects of Fempro (Letrozole)?

Some side effects may occur as a result of taking Fempro (Letrozole), including:

  • Hot flushing
  • Tiredness

  • Pain in the muscles
  • Swelling of the hands or feet, weight gain
