What is Hostacycline (Tetracycline) used for?

Hostacycline (Tetracycline) is an antibiotic which is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, such as acne, gonorrhea, infections of the genitals or urinary tract and many other conditions caused by infection. Antibiotic medication will not treat colds, flu or other infections caused by viruses.

How should I use Hostacycline (Tetracycline)?

You should take Hostacycline (Tetracycline) capsules 2 to 4 times per day. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour prior to, or 2 hours after eating. Your physician will tell you the correct daily dosage required. Patients who have been prescribed this medication should continue taking it until the entire prescribed amount has been taken.

What are the side effects of Hostacycline (Tetracycline)?

Patients taking Hostacycline (Tetracycline) to treat bacterial infections may notice some side effects, such as:

  • Appetite loss
  • Sores in the mouth
  • A black tongue
  • Sore throat
  • Rectal itchiness
