What is Nizoral Cream (Ketoconazole) used for?

Nizoral Cream (Ketoconazole) is an antifungal cream used to treat a variety of skin infections, such as ringworm, jock itch, athlete's foot, tinea versicolor and yeast infections of the skin. The active ingredient in this cream is a type of azole antifungal, which treats these conditions by inhibiting the growth of the fungus.

How should I use Nizoral Cream (Ketoconazole)?

Nizoral Cream (Ketoconazole) should be applied directly to the affected area, and to some of the skin surrounding the affected area. This cream is normally applied once per day for a period of 2 to 6 weeks. Avoid covering the application site unless told to do so by your physician. Do not get any of this cream in the mouth, nose or vagina, and remember to continue using it until you have used the entire prescribed amount unless your physician tells you otherwise.

What are the side effects of Nizoral Cream (Ketoconazole)?

Nizoral Cream (Ketoconazole) may cause some side effects where it is applied, such as:
