What is Priligy (Dapoxetine) used for?

Priligy (Dapoxetine) is used to treat premature ejaculation. It is in a group of medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs. This drug can help to improve control over ejaculation, while also increasing the length of time to ejaculation. It can also help to reduce feelings of stress caused by worrying about how fast you ejaculate, which in turn may lead to an increased level of enjoyment from sexual activity.

How should I use Priligy (Dapoxetine)?

Patients should take Priligy (Dapoxetine) tablets orally, with a glass of water. The standard dose is 30mg, take 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity. However, your dosage may be increased by your physician to 60mg. Patients should never take more than one tablet every 24 hours, and should avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. It is essential to consult your physician before taking this medication, so that the correct dosage can be prescribed.

What are the side effects of Priligy (Dapoxetine)?

Some side effects which may be noticed while taking Priligy (Dapoxetine) include:

  • A dizzy sensation
  • Stomach discomfort
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Headaches
  • Loose stools

This medication may also cause other more serious side effects. Consult your physician immediately if you notice high blood pressure, shaking, changes in vision, eye pain, a blocked nose, increased sweating, tiredness, problems getting or maintaining an erection, difficulty sleeping or nervousness.
