What is Regen-D (Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor) used for?

Regen-D (Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor) is used to treat diabetic foot ulcers, first and second degree burns, and also for use at the donor site after skin grafts. The 60mg strength gel is used for burns and grafts, and the 150mg gel is used to treat diabetic foot ulcers. There is also widespread belief that using this gel may have cosmetic benefits.

How should I use Regen-D (Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor)?

The application procedure for Regen-D (Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor) gel depends on the condition being treated. If you are treating diabetic foot ulcers, you should apply a thin layer of gel to the affected area, using a cotton swab. You should do this twice daily, or as directed by your physician. You may also be told by your physician to take other medication while using this gel.

However, patients treating severe burns should first cool down the affected area by running cold water over it for 10 minutes. This will allow the skin to cool down. You should then apply a clean gauze pad to the burn area. Once the skin has settled, you may apply a thin layer of gel to the injured area using a cotton swab or applicator. After applying the gel, you should cover the affected area. If you are applying it to the donor area after a skin graft, you should ensure that the bleeding has stopped before you apply it. A thin layer of gel may then be applied, and a dressing applied to the wound.
