Thorazine (Chlorpromazine) tablets should be taken by mouth, exactly as directed by your physician. The dosage required depends on the condition being treated, and your physician will decide the correct dose required for you. Some patients may be told to take it 2 to 4 times pear day. However, when used for treating nausea, it is sometimes taken every 4 to 6 hours. For relieving pre-surgery anxiety, it is normally taken 2 to 3 hours prior to surgery. Patients who have been prescribed this medication to relieve persistent hiccups are usually told to take it 3 to 4 times per day, normally for 3 days, or until the hiccups have stopped.
