What is Duovir (Lamivudine/Zidovudine) used for?

Duovir (Lamivudine/Zidovudine) is a combination of two antiviral medications, both of which are known as synthetic nucleoside analogues. This is used to treat HIV, and may be used by patients with or without AIDS. The active ingredients in this drug work to slow the spread of the HIV infection in the patient's body. However this drug is not a cure for HIV and may not reduce the amount of HIV related illnesses.
